(E)IDE Drives with 409

Post by synt »

I have some 3 250GB EIDE Drives left. (WD Caviar WD2500BB) Does somebody know how to use them in a QNAP 409?
Is there some kind of adapter to use them with?
Regards,
Synt

but you also need a sata power plug to 4pol power plug adapter ;) and if this will work it would look really stupid when your harddrives look out of the case :D another thing is that the raid controller must support ide raid.

Thanks Christian!
Just to be sure - Even if I solve the power plug issue by adding an additional power plug adapter, does it mean that there is not enough space to squeeze anything like a IDE-SATA adapter into the 409?

max space between door and hdd is around 23 mm and i guess thats not enough. just sell all three on ebay and buy one brand new 750 gb disk. later you can add once by once ;). thats what i would do
