[MAC OS X Lion] not able to print any more.
Hello,
Before, with OSX 10.6 everything worked flawlessly.
After a new install of Lion I could not approach my TS-101 any more.
That problem is solved by turning on "DHCAST128".
Only I cannot print any more with the print server of the TS-101.
I get different messages like:
This printer has been paused. Do you want it to resume printing?
If I go into the printer properties (COSMOPR) I see " Printer Paused", after Resume printer "Unable to connect to printer" "Printer Paused"
On the forum there is the message to upgrade to the latest v3.4.4 Build0718 official firmware.
It seems this is not for the TS-101.
What could I do...? Another workaround? Install Samba on the MAC?
Thanks!
Basilio

Re: [MAC OS X Lion] not able to print any more.
Since my upgrade to Lion I am experiencing exactly the same problem, both on my TS-219P and TS-239 Pro.
Please fix this ASAP! I need the printers.

The error message is that authentication is required. I thought that was supposed to be fixed in the last update but it wasn't. Still not found the way to get to the authentication window... unless...

Re: [MAC OS X Lion] not able to print any more.
Finally got it right. This is what I did:
Remove all the printers / jobs etc
Unplug the printer from the NAS, plugged it back in to a different port (might work with the same)
Click + to add new printer and your printer should show up in Bonjour, click add.
I printed a test copy and it worked.

Re: [MAC OS X Lion] not able to print any more.
Thank you Jabbba,
unfortunately that didn't work for me, the printer doesn't show up.
What I would like to try now is to add it manually.
The TS-101 before (under Snow Leopard) had address: smb://myTS/MYTSPR
That doesn't work anymore. Only I need the address at the TS-101:
192.168.1.100/???
Does anybody know the extension I need?

Still issues with printing. I manage to print something from time to time, but it looks like the connection drops fairly quickly and the printer becomes unavailable. I believe it is on the Apple side of things.

Re: [MAC OS X Lion] not able to print any more.
I am absolutely certain now that this is not the issue on the Mac side of things, but on QNAP. After a reboot of the NAS, printer works fine. It works after I just reinstall it swapping USB ports. But after awhile, like it goes to sleep or something and Mac can't find it. Maybe Bonjour service stops working or something.

Yup, just confirmed it. Disable/enable Bonjour on the printer and printer worked.

What is the Bonjour? How can I disable and enable it?

Re: [MAC OS X Lion] not able to print any more.
Hi
I still have big problems to get my printer to work on my TS-109pro with Lion.
Before I used SnowLeopard, and worked fine with adding the printer with the address : \\qnapIP\QNAPPR2, but not with Lion.
Getting the same errors as described in the first post. "Printer Paused" and "Unable to connect to printer".
I tried all the suggestions mentioned here, but there is no Bonjour feature for the printers on TS-109pro.
QNAP firmware: 3.3.2 Build 0918T
Can somebody guide me in some direction on how to solve this problem. Where can I see some logs?
Any idea why it worked on SnowLeopard, and not Lion?

Re: [MAC OS X Lion] not able to print any more.
Finally I had success to use my HP Deskjet F4180 connected to my TS-259 Pro+ (running latest firmware 3.5.2 Build1126) printing from my Macbook running Lion 10.7.2.
What I did:
In my Macbook I uninstalled all HP software.
Excluded the printer from the system.
Reset the printing system using the link bellow:
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1341
Disconnected the printer USB cable from my TS-259 Pro+ and connected to my macbook and the system identified my printer and started automatically to download/install the printer driver from Apple site.
After that I made a print test to see if the printer is ok with my macbook.
Disconnected the printer USB cable from the Macbook and reconnected to my NAS and installed the printer using the instructions of the link bellow:
http://www.qnap.com/pro_application.asp?ap_id=614
I used the same printer driver used when the printer was connected to Macbook. Do not use the Generic Postscript Printer, that could cause pause printing problems.
That´s all.
Hope it help you.

Re: [MAC OS X Lion] not able to print any more.
Hi
I followed the instructions above for my Epsom sx115, and although the printer showed up for the first time in the defaullt tab, along with bonjour, still no joy printing.
I connected via IP using 192.168.1.2/musicserverPR2 ar per the details in QNAP finder but still nowt. When i send to print it eventually shows status as an error, and cannot show ink levels. Any idea what I should try next?

Hi,
Are you using the latest firmware in your Qnap ?
Did you installed your printer directly in your Mac ?
There is no instructions about using the IP address in Qnap instructions.

Re: [MAC OS X Lion] not able to print any more.
I have the same issue. Tried all your tricks, great tweaks, but the file sits in the print queue on the NAS but never prints to the printer. After a couple of minutes the NAS reports the job as cancelled. If i purchase a different brand of Printer, will it work? Seems Canon and QNAP come up a lot in the forum with problems.
