Can you please let us know your temperature observations when the discs are idle?

My WD80EFZX (8 TB) is hotter by 4-6C on average in comparison with a WD60EFRX (6 TB) in the same box. The 6TB has temperatures similar to the 4TB model I previously had - these are around the 31-33C.

Or it is maked in base of user experiences posted in the forums?

It is possible what a Hard Disk missing of that list for my NAS would be compatible anyway?
...or if that Hard Disk is missing from that list means what is INCOMPATIBLE with my NAS.

My question is because I'm thinking in buy a 10 TB WD Red Wd100EFAX hard disk but it is missing of the compatibility list of my TS-210 NAS.
I try to remember and I am almost sure what when years ago I buy a 6 TB WD Red disk was also missing of that list and I buy it anyway and when I installed works without a problem. (That disk is NOW in the compatibility list of TS-210).

Maybe this happens again but I am trying to be sure because this disk is pretty expensive.

Note: The 10 TB WD Red Wd100EFAX figures as compatible for other QNAP models... this means what QNAP tested that disk in ALL models (even in TS-210) and only in certain models works?

If a drive is not on the compatibility list for a particular model it means that QNAP has not tested it or it failed the tests.

does anybody know if the 10TB HDD is also compatible with the QNAP 469L x86 ? . Slowly my old 4TB Hard disks are starting the get errors and I would like to exchange them 1 by 1 with 10TB HDDs also to upgrade.

Would this even make sense? or should I buy 4 new hard disks and exchange the whole system?!

I believe the 469 has a 16TB volume limitation so unless you are running 2 x RAID 1 or single volumes you cannot upgrade to 10TB disks.

I've just bought a WD Red 8TB NAS (wd80efax) and installed it into my QNAP TS-251+.

I previously had a WD Green 1TB inside the QNAP and it was fairly silent.

The WD Red makes a constant vibrating/humming sound 24/7 - is this normal?

I've a probem with those disks or at least i've those to use my Qnap 420.
I need to ask someone why my Qnap 430 reset everytime i try to connect more than 2 hdd. I've a 120W power adaptor so i dont think i've too few power.

I try yet to reset my qnap and start again but I've same problem: the qnap restart in a infinite loop after 1 second he start.

I try to connect the disk in different slot and disk but dont seems change a thing. THe qnap reset just when i put the 3rd or the 4th of it like he dont have power to spare...

My power is a "edacpower elec ea11351a-120 12v 10A"

Any help will be appreciated.

Now the Qnap after many try, succesfull start with all 4 hdd but again, after 1 minute, go off.

I dont know, a friend ask me to setup all, but He have this Qnap in a box from 2 years

It sounds like the power supply is not providing enough power to power up all 4 drives.
