I have the same problem
I opened a support ticket and have been corresponding with specialists for three weeks
Nothing helps.

Now they have requested access to my NAS
I'm afraid to give them access, because a lot of valuable information is stored in it

I've been experiencing the same problem also. I just filed a support ticket with QNAP so let's see what they come back with.
If they need logs I can give that to them but I'm not comfortable giving them access to the NAS itself.

Phjew, I've been working with support for 10 days now and not getting anywhere. He wanted access to the NAS for colleagues in Taiwan. I'm not going to do that. Today I was asked to supply logs (which I already did 9 days ago)...
I get that it is a difficult issue, but it doesn't help that the engineer isn't getting the logs that he requested (after supplying a debugging QSync version) in my support call that I opened 2 months ago and that got closed because the issue is so difficult to reproduce.

That debugging QSync version (5.0.1.1207) is crashing a lot and I need to restart it when I notice that.

Same problem here and unfortunately all QNAP support does is ask for access to my NAS. For control issues I set a time when I can be on and monitor their access. They then spend an hour bouncing around looking a things and no success. I have done this on numerous issues and spent hours without any success. Most importantly, I have been cleaning up 100000s of photos (my NAS is a personal family NAS only with photos and scanned docs) and when I delete files they magically reappear. I have probably spend 200 hours this last year trying to fix this issue.

Got this suggestion from QNAP support. Has any one tried this? My policy was set to "Let me decide for each file" but I changed it to "rename local files" to see if that helps. This will not solve the underlying problem of why qsync thinks there files have changed but it might stop the renaming of the files.
Please change the policy settings to "rename local files" on qsync

Go to Qsync Central > Management Settings > Edit preference settings > Policy.
Optional: Select Apply the setting above to all devices.
This option can only be selected when Central Configuration Mode is enabled in Management Settings.

Under Conflict Policies, select an option you want Qsync to take when synchronizing identical files or folders.

Let me decide for each file
Rename files on the NAS
Rename local files
Replace files on the NAS with local files
Replace local files with files on the NAS

My policy was and is: "Let me decide for each file".
I never got asked what to do and ended up with the _conflict_ files anyway. My guess is that the issue is somewhere before you/we get to answer that question, maybe it falls back to one of the other options.
Or never comes to that code part, I have no idea. The first time I noticed the issue I had many files on the NAS and my iMac with files having several times _conflict_ in its name.
There is another issue (ransomware) going around that will be taking up a lot of the attention of support engineers. That started around January 25th if I'm not mistaken. So I'm expecting to have to wait even longer now.
That issues makes it even more important not to expose the NAS to the internet (which I already didn't) and also not allow QNAP on my system by enabling a service that they can use (and hackers abuse) to investigate.

I follow this topic with lots of interest. I experience the same problems with my QNAP nas and when I cleaned up the mess in my document I noticed that Qsync damaged some of my documents on both my Mac and the NAS. Thank god I had an external disk....
At the moment I disabled Qsync on my Mac, don't use the NAS and wait until this is solved.

Have the same issue. Logs show this was created from the QSync app on my Mac, on 02/01. Which is weird as no software changes/update I'm aware of were made in or around that timeframe. I try to have all auto-updates turned off, etc. Opened QNAP ticket, after number of back and forth they saying stop using it and when bug resolved they'll let me know!

It's a mess. The folders with _conflict_(0) appended were the original folders and the duplicate folders/files without that appended name were created. However, not all files/folders were affected. Not an easy cleanup. Short of grabbing an older backup and restoring it - not exactly sure what other file changes have been made since this happened, but don't want to accidentally wipe it out because of this.

I'm going to try to delete the entire directory on the NAS, clean up the files on the Mac, then re-install the Qsync client on the mac and set it up again.

I'm still getting nowhere with support, even not sure that the engineer that requested the logfiles when it would happen again has gotten them (in my previous SR). Frustrating. I just installed the newest version: 5.0.2.1314 maybe that fixed something. I regularly check for _conflict_ files on my Mac and NAS. So I'm catching the error quickly hopefully (and also using time machine on a separate disk and Carbon Copy).

I have done as you mention here (delete entire directory etc) when I got my new Mac. But it happened again as I posted in this thread before. If you get notified that the bug is resolved, please share :)

I have replaced the sync software on the mac with Rsilio sync instead. That is working fine.
I had discovered that the clock on the QNAP was off by many hours. I felt this may have caused the issue. Despite being set up correctly for hitting the time server, something was not updating. So, I changed to a different time server. Then I felt brave and in a smaller directory (outside of what Rsilio is doing) I installed Qsync on the Mac and it has been running correctly for over a month now. However, I have a new problem - no network connection anymore to QNAP suddenly . . . will pursue elsewhere.

My SR got updated with a link to a newer version in which the problem should be solved: QNAPQsyncClientMac-5.0.3.0328.dmg. I'm testing that on two systems. Unfortunately I cannot share that. You probably need to request it via a SR if you have this problem.

The issue reoccured tonight, so the version I mentioned above isn't free of the problem. Updated the SR and will have to wait for a responds.

I am suffering the same problem with the _conflict_(0) appendix as everyone here. Also sharing the same experience with the customer support. I.e. I closed my ticket with the issue unresolved when they requested access to my NAS.
I did not have the time to dig into it yet but I got the feeling that the system time might have something to with it as well. I did not experience the _conflict_(0) issue for some time now till very recently.
Only thing that changed afaik is that out of nowhere I was unable to use 2fa on the NAS. After a little research I found, that the time on the NAS was apparently off a few seconds.
Logging in via SSH and forcing a time update fixed the 2fa issue but the _conflict_(0) startet to appear again around that time.
Not sure if this is just random or if there is a causality between the two events, but if anyone is eager to investigate this might be a lead.

Via my longstanding support ticket I got a newer version 5.0.3.0531 of Qsync. I have been testing that / using that for several weeks now and the issue hasn't reoccured. I hope it stays away.
Development wanted to know if I have many documents to sync via Qsync, which I do not (anymore). I got these instructions:

"Thank you for your message.
For the time being, the colleagues from the development department ask you to carry out the following steps.

1. ask to delete all conflicting files manually.
2. you need to remove the NAS from the Qsync client (as the DB is already wrong).

After the above actions are completed, install this version ( download link https://drive.google.com/file/d/15h-Wn- ... sp=sharing ) and login to the NAS again to see if there are still file conflicts."

The link above contains a version for MacOS that I use on my Apple Silicon MacBook.

I strongly suggest to go via Qnap support (and the painful process) to get help. And never open your QNAP to the internet, not even for support. Maybe asking for the version I mentioned can help speed up the proces...

And the issue is back on macOS Ventura with version 5.0.4 build 0725 of Qsync. It just happened today again. Directory and a file (that I haven't touched in a long time).
