Less than 1MB/s
My new NAS is really slow when transferring files from my Windows machine and I can't understand why. It's often less than 100KB/s. It happens both when using Windows explorer and also NetBak replicator.
Any ideas More details below.
Firmware - latest (QTS 5.0.1.2194)
CPU usage - 20-30%
Memory usage - <2GB (8GB available)
HD usage - all below 1MB/s (4 in total)
Temperatures - all 40-50c
Windows machine - High spec Windows 10 machine copying from SSD
Network switch - 0 errors on all devices

Re: Less than 1MB/s
I am experiencing the same problem with 422-2G. I noticed that upload speeds are varying between 11, 8, 2, 1 Mbs. Any crashing or simultaneously open application will ruin the performance. I tried increasing the network card frame size to 4 Kb (maximum supported with the dongle I use). No luck. I am also clueless what is happening here.

Re: Less than 1MB/s
Model = TS-431XeU
btw. it has been up to around 100MB/s for short periods, but it's less than 1MB/s for most of the time.

Re: Less than 1MB/s
Didnt see the "pro" ..anyways, model would be something more cryptic..e g. WD4003FFBX
As your symptoms would be typical for SMR issues, that was worth a shot to check

Re: Less than 1MB/s
It seems that some files are fast. I'm wondering whether it's small files that are slow. i.e. I think one 100MB file would be quick, but 100,000 10Kb files would be slow.

Re: Less than 1MB/s
Due to protocol overhead, that is always the case (many small files are much slower to transfer than few large files)

Re: Less than 1MB/s
sometimes when shovelling around tons of little files (e.g. installation folders) even 10GbE goes down to a couple of hounded kb\s (might be the AV on the local machine also clamping down) but that's the way it is

Re: Less than 1MB/s
Do you know whether there's a way to copy the files quicker? Either a different protocol or by compressing them on the Windows machine and decompressing them on the NAS?

Re: Less than 1MB/s
If you quick compress the files into a single file/container it should afterwards transfer much faster, yes
