The specified network name is no longer available

Post by johnnune »

Windows 10 clients receive "The specified network name is no longer available " error drive mapping error to NAS. I have to reboot the NAS for computers to map network drives again and the issue happens every couple of days.

Could be an IP address conflict, is the NAS on fixed IP ? And if so, was that IP setup outside of DHCP scope?

Otherwise the usual info missing:
NAS model?
NAS firmware?
NAS configuration
etc

Its on a staic fixed ip address inside DHCP SCOPE and everything was working fine until a week ago. I had the NAS four a couple of years now with no issues.

yeah never set static IPs inside of scope..

set the outside of scop or fixed via DHCP

Many DHCP servers cannot keep track of static IP on the network, so unless you set an exclusion, you could have issues like this
