Why is Qsync prcess running on a machine thar does not ave qsync installed

Post by AJPJazzIT »

TS-453mini
Firmware: 4.3.3.0188 build 20170516

A few weeks ago I notice Qsyc process was hogging significantly the CPU and memory on a nas drive in a small offce. As the users do not use qsync to that particular nas drive (they do use qsyc to an off site nas drive),so i disabled then uninstalled Qsync central from the nas drive.

Today I notice Qsync process is still running on the nas drive, even after several reboots and firmware updates. Qsync is not hogging the cpu or memory taking bewteen 3.5% and 5.5% of CPU and about 15Mb ram, not significant. I am just confused as to why it would be running at all when Qsync Central is not on the Drive.

The drive does have RRTR and RSync backup running at timmed intervals.

The only process remaining is /usr/bin/qsyncman when I'm right.

Filed an issue on this already - all the Qsync capabilities must be part of the Qsync Central Station package, including /usr/bin/qsyncman.

Schumaku, Thanks for the reply.

Having analysed the nas drive a bit more the Qsync process is sleeping most of the time, and only seems to kick in when RRTR scheduled jobs are running. I am wondering is RRTR is actually using a form of Qsync to replicate the files.
