Shared Folder Size Limitation?

Post by djtech2k »

I have a TS-412 running the newest firmware. I have been using it for a few years.

I use the Multimedia builtin share to store things for my household. I just tried to map a drive and copy files to it and am getting an error message saying there isn't enough space. It says I need to add x amount of size in order to complete my copy. I look at the control panel for the NAS and see no setting for a folder limit. According to the CP, I have 325GB in that folder.

Is there a size limit or why else would this happen?

Have you checked your free space?

Useless information. Always provide the version and build numbers. What is newest today might not be the newest tomorrow.

Volume is full?

Use RAID and external backups. RAID will protect you from disk failure, keep your system running, and data accessible while the disk is replaced, and the RAID rebuilt. Backups will allow you to recover data that is lost or corrupted, or from system failure. One does not replace the other.

It turns out this must have been an authentication issue somehow.

I have my NAS domain integrated. I have the permissions setup on the NAS so that my domain users should have full control of a certain builtin share/directory. I have not been able to get it to work like that though. When I try to browse to that share, the logged in domain users do not have access. They sometimes can read, but they do not have complete write access.

In this case, I mapped the drive and I could see the data. It even let me start to copy data but it came back and said there wasn't enough space. Once I dropped the mapped drive, re-mapped using a local NAS account, then it worked fine.

So I still do not know why domain accounts do not have the full access I have set it to.
