Hi everyone.
I've a TS-453U NAS with 4.3.3.0299 Build 20170901 firware running.
I'm trying to understand if it is possible to enable Windows shadow copies on NAS shares.
I've not found any setting and I'm not very optimistic...
Otherwise can you suggest me a versioning system, even with third party software, better running directly on my NAS?
Thank you!
is VSS available on NAS share?

Re: is VSS available on NAS share?
Of course, VSS - a Windows Service doing o Shadow Copies - can't be available as the NAS does not run Windows.
But then, the QTS does support both Volume and LUN Snapshot capabilities. On Volume Snapshots, the Windows file system history is available.

Of course, this can't make a "full" versioning - because it's depending on the moment the snapshot is resp. the snapshots were taken - and this happens on a schedule. Be aware the number of snapshots is limited. Snapshots can be replicated to other NAS on dedicated schedules to keep a longer but less granular history.
