Duplicate shared folder

Post by proku »

Hello,
i inherited a NAS (TS-219P +).
It contains a shared folder (named PROSERVER) and subfolders. (190GB)
I created a new shared folder (named UZEMELTETES) (Later a Pr01). The structure of the PROS map has doubled: the UZEMELTETES folder (190GB) has the same content as the PROSERVER folder.
If I delete a subfolder from the UZEMELTETES folder, it will also be deleted from the PROERVERS folder.
How can I delete the UZEMELTETES folder? Keep the PROSERVER folder!
Thank you very much!

Hi and welcome to the forum. :)

It sounds like you created a share and then pointed it to an existing location, instead of allowing the NAS to create a new location.

I recommend removing the new share "UZEMELTETES", but DO NOT delete the data. When the NAS asks you to confirm the share removal, ensure you DON'T tick the box to delete data in that share. ;)

Hello,
Thanks for the reply.
I buy an external hard drive to save the data.
Then I try to remove the shared folder "UZEMELTETES".

Hi,
i removed the UZEMELTETES and Pr01 shared folders.
I have not selected the Delete data box.

Removed the two unnecessary folders!
The required PROSERVER folder remains!

Thank you very much!
