TS-451+ Add a 3th drive problem to detect drive with CODI

Post by ferdysteenaerts »

Hello,

I have a TS-451+
Already had 2 HDD drives running (raid1).
Today I installed a 3th HDD.
I want to use this drive for multimedia purposes such as movies,....

Everything was easy installed and a dataVol2 was generated.
During the installation I choose for static Single Volume and no raid selection because I just want to put some movies on it (no back-up required).
I created a folder called multimedia1 in my dataVol2. (because multimedia folder was already existing in my dataVol1.)

I managed to put some movies in this folder.

If I now start-up the media player CODI this multimedia2 map is not visible and I can't play the movies on it.
If have also an external Harddisk and this is easily detected by CODI.

Anyone who can help me?

Kind regards,
Ferdy

Just because you added an additional drive doesn't mean that KODI automatically adds it. You would need to add it as a source. Check http://kodi.wiki/view/quick_start_guide

Clear for me, but I already spend a while looking in the KODI menu how to add my new drive.

I got to step 4 before I got stuck.
Step 4: The ADD VIDEO SOURCE
Step 5: Browse the path ==> If I do I see strange locations which (Locations I can't directly match to the correct path)
==> Home Folder
==> Network File System (NTFS)
==> Root File system
==> SAP streams
==> UPnP devices
==> Windows network (SMB)
==> Zeroconf browser ==> only if I choose this path I can see a folder of my new driver but if I go further I have an other issue
==> I need to add a user name (my NAS username?? I don't now
==> And I need to enter a password (I assume also my NAS password)
==> And I need to highlight a button "Remember for this path"
None of this works I and if I press OK after entering all of this it stays on the same screen.

I have tried also to enter also directly the SMB path in the "Add video source" but this was also unsuccesfull.
I think I'm overseeing something essential.

If you are on the NAS, it would normally be under Root FileSystem > /share/<whatever new shared folder you created and put media on>

Can you be a bit more specific?
Do I have to look in QTS? Or in my Qnap configuration?

Thanks

KODI => Root file system , done
The options I now get are looking strange and I don't see any link to my 3th drive even no link to my first driver
Some options I see:
=bin
=dev
=etc
=home
=lib
=lib32
=lib64
........
In none of them I find the multimadia map I created on the drive 3 or even multimedia on drive 1 I can't find

Solved thanks for the help.
I needed the wait for a while. Then the added drive 3 and corresponding subdirectory was visible.

Cheers
