Cannot access shares on firmware 4.4.1.1031

Hi, i have a QNAP TS-251+ and i now cannot see any of the windows file shares, not sure if the firmware version update to 4.4.1.1031 was the issue but cannot seem to get them back. I got a message about malware scanner had cleaned up malware and to reset permissions on file shares, i have done this and all seems like it should be ok, but it seems like the windows file sharing on the QNAP now does not work, have disabled and re-enabled the windows file share system but still no luck

Was just wondering what could be the issue and hoe maybe to fix, i have a ticket open with support also

I have the same issue. The smbd daemon does not start. I have the TS-251+

Hi, i have had to downgrade to 4.3.6.0993 as this is the latest firmware that the file sharing works on, even the latest 4.3.6.1050 has the windows file sharing bug, having to downgrade again now!

I would suggest opening helpdesk tickets with QNAP as it seems like it might be a specific HW/SW issue potentially with your model.

Hi, i have submitted a ticket but it seems lots of other people have the same issue so not sure is hardware related
