QNAP NAS Community Forum

Hello,

I have a little problem, i have bought a TS-419 II.. and a made a smb share with my Kodi Mediaplayer _( Eminent EM7680 ) with CoreElec.
I alwasy used Freenas on a PC (Never had problems), and now on the Qnap.

With the Qnap i have a issue that it al works verry slow.. it takes 15 seconds to go to the next Dir, and if i want to load the shared file
it also takes more as 15 sec that its start.

i use now a ftp connection in Kodi to play the files but it should be working with SMB

In Windows it works perfect the share


Anyone knows about issue's with this COMBI

any CPU spikes on the QNAP ?

What SMB level is running

(smb2status via SSH)

smbd (samba daemon) Version 4.4.16
smbd (samba daemon) is running.
max protocol SMB 2.1 enabled.

that is what i see in Putty... the cpu has a normal 3% in idle modes.. now its very busy to copy files in the netwerk, so it has now ,much CPU.

But i checked with my Mediaplayer when er was no activity on the CPU

Even though the NAS is a decade old and EOL, directory listing should be fast. My even older 419p+ has no issues

You could try enabling smb3 (smb3enable) (if firmware is 4.3.x or higher)

The srange thing is that if i use it with my Windows PC that it's working very good to the NAS

But i Enabled the smb3 and now it goes fast... Thx for the tip dolbyman
