Re: Unable to delete Folder in File Station 5
There is no manual yet for 4.5.x but it should be in the same spot as on 4.4.x

Re: Unable to delete Folder in File Station 5
Hi, I was having the same problem, but solved it for myself now. I was logged on as a non-admin user and tried to delete a non-shared folder tree in my home folder, but it wouldn't delete. So I logged in with an administrator account and tried there, but it still wouldn't delete. So I logged in as administrator with WinSCP and tried there but still no joy. However, I noticed in WinSCP that it said the the folder "owner" wasn't created from that non-admin-user account but via another account which I'd since deleted. Looks like I got them mixed somehow. So I recreated that previously deleted owner user account and gave it permission (temporarily) to give the account access to homes. Then logged in as that (previously deleted) user, and was able to successfully delete that folder tree. Now I'll re-delete that old user account.edwhitney wrote: ↑Wed Oct 07, 2020 3:24 am I created a folder that I now want to delete but am unable to do so. It appears in QNAP File Station 5 (and Windows 10 Explorer) as a folder but does not appear as a shared folder. I am unable to delete it or edit its properties to do so. Suggestions are welcome. Thank you.

Re: Unable to delete Folder in File Station 5
You can't delete a shared folder from the file station. To delete a shared folder you need to log in as an administrator and go to Control Panel > Privilege > Shared Folders, then select the check-box of the shared folder you want to delete, and press the Remove button. You'll then be presented with a checkbox after pressing "Remove" to indicate that you also want to delete all the files in the shared folder. I dunno what happens if you don't check that last box - maybe end up with orphan files that you can't delete later? Anyway, that's the (non-intuitive) process.herbie28 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 19, 2020 10:14 am I am having the same problem.
Using Admin login, I created a shared folder under my RAID volume root (ie on same level as HOME etc. File Station 5 should allow me to right click on the folder then hit delete.
No offering to DELETE is available.
If I create a folder under a USER it works this way.
What am I failing to understand?
