Recreate a share

Post by gkarasik » Sat Oct 17, 2020 9:07 am

Hi,

I have lost access to a share on my TS-453A. I today upgraded to firmware build 4.5.1.1456. The share is listed in Control Panel/Shared Folders, but its size is zero. It's listed in the tree in File Station 5, but says "System Message, File or folder does not exist" when clicked on. Is there a way to recover?

Ahh--sorry for being thick-headed. Wouldn't I have to recreate a share, and wouldn't that overwrite some of the files?

Okay--then I don't know what "share management" is.

Thanks. I don't see anything in there about editing a shared folder name. I see "create a share," but
doesn't that add a share where none is now? The main share, "QShare," is listed. None of the subfolders, which were not shares, are there.

There are two "edit" options: "Edit properties" and "Edit share folder permissions." Assuming you mean the former, the app won't allow me to add a directory I know is there, eg /QShare/Utils, because I'm told I can't use \.

Yes, Edit properties. Providing a known folder name wants to change the name of the share.
