Show on appletv photos store on QNAP installed on diferent network

Hi all

Im planning to buy a Ts-451d2-4g to store photos.
The photos will be organized manually on folders on the QNAP.
However I would like to have access to the photos on a appletv that is NOT in the same network of QNAP.

Is this possible? Which configuration I must to do? It will be possible witb QMedia app on appletv or should I use another solution like Plex?

you would need a site2site vpn (best done via 2 routers) ..what apps would work on appletv ..I dont know

plex would work even without that (tunneled via plex gateway servers)

I have acess to the routers on the two places. I can setup the router whete the QNAP will be installed and also the router where the appletv ia installed.

I was thinking to install on appletv QMedia or Plex or any that could be necessary. I just would like to have sure if will work because buying the QNAP depend of that

I use Plex and it works just fine ...so go the Plex route and it will work

Ok thank you. Qmedia it will not be an option then right?
If I use plex then it will not be necessary to set any definition on the router right? Plex it will make the photos be available on every network isnt it?

I dont use these qnap apps...they are amateurish at best .. just use Plex

Plex will also work without portforwarding (Plex gateway) .. QNAP apps would need a VPN or portforwards (gets you hacked)
