Odd User permissions behaviour in File Station

Post by tudor »

Hi,

We have a QNAP that's exhibiting a very strange permissions behaviour.

We have:
- Enabled the LDAP server
- Set Domain Security to the LDAP server
- Set the Guest Access Right to Deny Access for every share

However, in File Station, for *any* domain user, *all* the shares appear for the domain users, including the contents!

Is this the normal behaviour? If so, how do we lock out the shares by default and only allow access to those users/groups in the list?

At the moment, the only way to lock them out seems to be to add "Domain Users" and select "Deny Access" to every single share. However, when we do this, adding a user to the list to allow the user access doesn't provide them with access.

It sounds like a Deny,Allow config somewhere is in the wrong order, but I've grepped all the config files and it looks correct.

I swear this used to work as expected in the past. Your help is appreciated.

Cheers,
Tudor.
