"QSync Device" is mysteriously deleting files

Post by ll5k698dfg »

I've been testing QSync with my PC and an inexpensive TS-128A for several months now; mystified by my occasional discovery that a file went "missing" on my PC every few weeks or so. The last time I discovered a file was missing, the client log shows that a device named "Qsync Device" (with an ip address of "-") deleted the file. I opened up a ticket and provided screenshots, logs and questions to QNAP almost a month ago but...

I could only find one other post (by @bonny) regarding said "Qsync Device" (also experienced bizarre/unexplained behavior):
bonny wrote: Wed Jul 04, 2018 5:23 am log into qsync on the NAS claims that folders was created by a device named "qsync device" which, I think, is an internal NAS process, because I don't have a device with this generic name.
Do you have such a "qsync device" into your qsync logs?
Is anyone familiar with this "Qsync Device"? Any idea what might be going on here?
I've attached some screenshots of Event Logs...
