I am setting up a new TS-453D, ABSE is not configured on any of the shared folders.
The i button says ABSE must be disabled on all folders to enable NOT restricting anonymous users' folder access.
Only 4 folders on the device, only one shared folder, no folders have ABSE configured.
The setting says 'Enabled (strict); Authenticated users can view the shared folders list
I want it to change to and stay on this setting:
Disabled. Anyone can view the shared folder list. Guest account can access folders with permission
The device keeps prompting for a login...I don't want it to do this, I have other Qnaps that don't do this...
Can I do this configuration with any CLI commands if I ssh into it??
Thank you, Tom
can not configure anonymous access for smb shared folders, why??

can you please post screenshots of all settings, including the individual setting on the share permissions (guest access rights in particular)

Re: can not configure anonymous access for smb shared folders, why??
permissions on the folder share are as liberal as can be (e.g. guest has read/write access), no abse, it will take a few hours to get them all...first try a reboot then configure the setting, it will take awhile to capture them and post them since this forum doesn't allow uploading image files.

should only be a handful of screenshots , just concentrate on one share

OH I know. I was just whining. There's only one share involved.
HOWEVER. I rebooted the NAS and redid the setting and now it 'sticks'...the setting does not revert to 'enabled' like it did before.
Thank you for your help though.
