Just purchased an QNAP TS-h1283XU-RP with the intention of using this for video surveillance.
Number of cameras will be ~ 16
Question : What are the optimum disks to install ? SSD/HDD, RAM required and and expansion cards?
New to video surveillance and looking to essentially buy the right hardware first time round..
Any advice - pointers to help/tutorials much appreciated

Re: QVR Pro - Best Config
Just use NAS disks, with 16 bays go for:
WD Red Pro
Seagate Ironwolf Pro
Seagate Exos
Toshiba NAS Pro
Use as many drives as you can afford as you cannot add disks later (not to the same pool)
I don't think you will need anything, both stock RAM configs (32GB and 128GB) should be plenty for surveillance.
