QVR Pro Client - How to connect to Server from external
Hi,
I want to connect to my QVR Pro 2.3 at my QNAP TS-453E.
I wonder what I have to do at my Windows Client QVR Pro Client.
My Android Mobile can connect to my QNAP by using LTE (WLAN is deactivated).
There is no portforwarding at my Router from external to internal host (QNAP).
Any ideas?

If there is no port forwards (good) then you would need a way to connect to your LAN ..a VPN should be used for that (server on router or dedicated appliance)

Hm,
thanks for your response. But why can I connect with my mobile? I thought the apps are doing the same. So, are you shure, that a vpn is mandatory for the windows app?

If you can connect to your NAS from WAN (not LAN or WiFi), then you are exposing your NAS (dangerous)

I use Wireguard running on a Raspberry Pi to access my NAS and QVRPro.

NO, I dont use exposed host and there is no port forwarding. I think it uses p2p connect over qnap cloud. But this is only working with mobile not working for my windows app

Still...go with VPN and have it work from any device..no need to send that traffic through QNAP servers

Not sure what the question was,
If you use a VPN tunnel, you establish a connection between client and NAS, yes

QVRPro seems to be well maintained and I don’t see why it shouldn’t work as well as any other NVR with that number of cameras.
