"Failed to Connect" message for Windows version of QVR

Post by Watching » Tue Feb 03, 2015 1:20 pm

Hello All:

If you receive a "Failed to Connect" message from Windows version of QVR, the problem may be with QVR program's Login process involving your Password.

For whatever reason a password that works for QNAP's Vmobile on iPhones, works for QNAP's QVR on Macs, works for QNAP's Surveillance Client on Windows, may not work for QNAP's QVR on Windows.

Seen - "Failed to Connect" problem with Password that has Numbers with single shifted number key character (such as $ @ %).
Example: 785*349
Seen - "Failed to Connect" problem with Password that has Mix of Letters with Numbers.
Example: fail02

If you are seeing this "Failed to Connect" message create a new user account and set a very simple password (all numbers or all letters) for it. Then use the new account and simple password with QNAP's QVR on windows for testing.

Than you - this is still an issue on the latest firmware on a TS-859U+ (running 4.2.6 20181026). Passwords in smallcaps letters only works. Will update firmware soon - fingers crossed.
