I have some new HIKVISION DS-2CD2185FWD-I cams.

QNAP says that this cam is competible with their VIOSTOR surveillance Stations:

But I am not able to add the camera to the VS-4116Pro+ with firmware 5.1.1

What can I do?

Is it listed and fails, or not listed in your version?
How did you try adding them?
Too little information for a helpful response.

Try adding as ONVIF / ProfileS or as a Generic RTSP.
That will work for sure, though with some limitations on notification actions.

I have DS-2CD2385. Had them as Onvif at first- but alarms didn't work. They showed up on compatibility matrix end of April, but I had to log a call with Qnap support to get the Beta version (5.1.1.4.3) which covers them and other HikVision Easy IP 3.0 cameras.

They are now in my dropdown for camera type in SS and working fine.

SS does seem to struggle running highest quality on full 4k stream with h.264+ enabled- not overly surprising! Ditching h.264+, lowering quality to medium or dropping resolution seem to be necessary compromises to get them working.

I tried adding them as ONVIF / ProfileS and as a Generic RTSP. I now indeed can view the images but the VIOSTOR is not recording the images!

Any chance you also have a solution for this problem?

I bought ds-2cd2185fwd-is and i seem to have the same problem. are these camera's to new for Qnap? plz get that app updated then..
If anyone has a solutions let me know. When i find it myself i will post it here do.

The community does not do app development or updates.
