License broken

Nice QNAP again after an upgrade on the License Center (update to version 1.0.2) all my license are gone again :

[LicenseCenter] License Center failed to activate the licenses either because the license applied on a different device or the maximum usage quota has been reached.

Ticket logged with QNAP no response :(

I have the same issue - I'm sorry, but WTF? I opened a ticket. Am i going to have to reconfigure the lost cameras when my license is restored? I sure hope not. :-|

Hello grahamk,

This happend the last time after the upgrade as well, the config is not gone only not visible any more.

@dolbyman i did that, but again this is going to take a week or more like last time :(

So lost all my security cams (12 licenses) and ofcourse there is again no compasation in our costs.
Last time i had to spend over $100 as i had to backup my QNAP to get the base license back.

This is what they came back with :

Actually, QNAP NAS is a cloud storage not a backup system. We have provide multi RAID array let users can reduce data losing risky.
Therefor, we can not assume responsibility for your situation. Please understand, and sorry for any inconvenience caused.

So you buy a 900,00 euro QNAP device wich isn't an backup device .........

I do not understand why QNAP is releasing updates that haven't tested, this error should been seen !

The outage has lasted close to 24 hours now with no reply from support. Not happy. :-(

Wow - 36 hours now since I opened a ticket with support and still I have heard nothing back from them other than automated reply.

Is this normal with qnap support?

I have only had my 2 camera license for a few weeks. I'm wondering if I dispute the charge via paypal and buy a new one, will the new one work? I need my cameras back online ASAP and I really don't want to go back to the other software i was using - changing was a real PITA.

I just heard back - they sent me a new version of license manager and it fixed the problem.

I contacted QNAP about firmware update if it is safe to do so, apparently one known issue has to do with the License Centre. Hopefully this will be fixed in the next update.
Current firmware update has a known issue with license center. So if you use any exFAT/McAfee/Surveillance licenses, I would recommend to wait the next build.

They sent me a binary file - it appears to be a new version of license manager. I could send it to you but really don't know if it would work. Not sure how best to do it - perhaps you could send me a PM with an e-mail addy to send it to?

Licenses center 1.0.2 didn’t fix my license issue.
I already asked them for help again.
