We are looking at the larger 12bay NAS units, this raises a few questions about the Apps, many say "go QuTS", however we noticed it doesnt support QVR Pro, so we started checking, it also doesnt support any of the below:

- QVR Face Insight
- QVR Door Access
- QVR Face Tiger
- QVR Human
- QVR Smart Search
- QVR Guard
- QUSBCam2

So whats with this new OS, looks like a huge overhead with many Apps not supported.... it does raise other questions as many NAS units with USB ports running QTS doesnt appear to support QUSVCAM2, and most do not support any of the nice stuff above... so is this just an oversight on the QNAP App page?

So, is this why I can't get QVR Face Insight running on my new TVS-872XT? I was working fine on my TVS-882, which was running QTS and died, but I decided to install QuTS Hero on this new NAS just for comparison purposes. I got really tired of having to clean my file system every other day too.

This is the first time I've used any other OS besides QTS on my NAS (decided to install QuTS Hero initially). Is this typical for some apps to not be compatible with both QTS and QuTS Hero or do you think QNAP with eventually add functionality for these apps to work on QuTS Hero? I initially noticed that QVR Pro wasn't an option to install so I installed QVR Elite instead. Once it was installed and saw I also needed to buy additional licenses. Besides this, I can't see any difference between the two besides the fact some of the add-ons for QVR Pro, like you mentioned, can be installed rather than not even showing up in the app store, but I haven't been able to get any of them to work. If QNAP is behind the ball and will eventually makes these other apps compatible, I'll probably stick with QuTS Hero, but if they're never going to be compatible or might be compatible in a couple of years, I might need to back everything up, reinitialize, and go back to QTS. To be honest, the only benefit I've seen with QuTS Hero is not having to consistently check my file system, but the use of these apps outweigh this issue since I can just set it up to check the file system periodically. After upgrading my NAS to be able to run some of these apps more efficiently, like adding a Coral TPU and faster drives, I think running QTS and having the use of these apps far outweighs running QuTS Hero. I only dread tansitioning back since I just put all my data back on the NAS.
