Guet access not working 4.3.5

I have tried disabled, and re-entered Guest Access in selected shares, but cannot access as Guest:Can only access via admin..

When i try connecting (map share in windows) as guest, i get authentication dialog in windows
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Unlikely something new to 4.3.5. Much more, Windows does not allow non-authenticated shared folder access (so called guest access) for a longer time now. There might be some tweaks, but this is nothing I suggest to do. Create user accounts, combine users with similar access rights into a group, and use this group to control the access the shared folders.

That's actually wrong.. You don't need to authenticate as guest.... or maybe i should have said "anonymous" users. Eeven Qnap support tell you "If you can't access anonymous, change Guest option"

Article doesn't apply to Windows 7, which is what i am using.

solved:
Control Panel >> Network & File Services>>Win/Mac/NFS/Microsoft Networking/Advanced Options, "Restrict anonymous users from accessing SMB shared folders" changed to "Disabled.

Good you posted the solution for others!

I assume this would only work with win 7 that was your issue.
