Qmultimedia Folder not accessible via SAMBA - access not authorized

Post by k1282 » Thu Mar 14, 2019 12:18 am

Hi,

I recently moved to a new country and installed a new router. The only unusual aspect of my router is that the dhcp ip range is 192.168.178.x instead of 192.168.1.x

all my tech infrastructure seems to work fine but somehow neither my Windows PC nor any other device, such as mobile phone or chromebook is able to access my Qmultimedia folder via samba protocol and admin credentials. Accessing all other folders on my Qnap with admin credentials via samba works fine though, such as Qdownload etc.

Any idea what might be the issue?

It was annoying with Kodi, as I could not access my movies and music on my NAS via samba, but luckily, I could access Qmultimedia with my admin credentials via nfs protocol. However, I have another software, which requires me to access my network drive via samba but it does not work as described above.

any idea why this is happening?

regards
k

Does admin have access to the share?
Read the Online Manuals and use the forum search feature before posting.

It is a recommended to use RAID and have external backups. RAID will protect you from disk failure, keep your system running, and data accessible while the disk is replaced and the RAID rebuilt. Backups will allow you to recover data that is lost or corrupted, or from system failure. One does not replace the other.

Submit bugs and feature requests to QNAP via their Helpdesk app.
