no need for a gatway no requests other then the dedicated subnet traffic is going there, if you want you can put the NAS in there 192.168.10.10

Ok so here some news.
I set up the connection as you suggest (thx so much), disabled the chace and use the two nvme to set up a new volume. Just to test the max speed of the connection without bottleneck.
And in fact, the 10g connection is ok. I got max write speed on this nvme volume.
I also tried to write on the main hdd voulume, and the speed was again very low, less than 100mb/s on avarage. But the read was good, 300mb/s on avarage. Could be that raid 6 is very bad in write speed?
Then, i tried to set up again the cache on read/write mode with 30% over-provisioning (disabling the small nvme volume just created). It manage to made a 120gb transfer at max speed, so seems like the problem is solved.
Anyway, i notice that in the usage chronology of the cache, the write speed was at 100% during the copy while the read speed build up till 85% at the end of the copy. And once the copy was finished, the write speed don't drop to zero but stayed at 100% and the read at 85% for like 5 minutes. I supposed it's because the nas was copying the files from the cache to the volume?
The strange thing is that one minute after the write and read speed of the cache go down to zero, the write speed spike up again at 100% for another 3 minute. Then it stay at zero for another 2 minute, and after that the write and read goes up again at 100% for another couple of minute. Than zero again for some other minute, then again at 100%. Why?
In the resources monitor, the cache volume was reading at 40mb/s, and the hdd voume writing at 40mb/s at all the time after the copy ended. But how can 40mb/s be the 100% usage of nvme and hdd drives?
How this cache system work?
Then, i try to make anaother 120gb transfer while the write usage of the cache was at 100% (the read was zero) and it manage anyway to complete the transfer at max speed. Then all the strange (to me) up and down usage repeat.
So, it seems that thx to your help i have sucessfully build up a proper 10g connection, but many question remains about how the cache work...

I got 6x6tb wd red in raid 6 (with 2 disk failure).
As far as i know, u can't set a raid 0 for the cache if u want write only mode, only raid 1 is avaible.
Anyway now it work, if i had some other problem i'll try the write only mode.

One problem have raised again.
Now the win10 pc don't use the 10g asus network card for trasnfer file to the nas. It only use the 1g onbard card. If i disabled the 1g card, then it use the 10g card. So the 10g card is there and working, but win10 don't want to use it.

IMHO its nonsens to set Google IPs for DNS at 10G network! Use own IP of device.
Also why setting gateway at PC with NAS IP? Use also own device IP.
Which IP is PC using at 1G?
How are the PC and NAS connected (via hostname or via IP)?
Connect shares using the IP and PC should use only the 10G interface for accessing the shares.

if the 10GbE is set on a dedicated subnet and mounts are done via IP, no way that 1GbE would be used...something aint (done) right

If the PC can access the NAS over the 1G subnet, then the PC is getting a /16 netmask from DHCP.

most consumer routers give out /24 by default
I guess if op set the router dhcp that far open, it could be a possibility

The ip of the pc is 192.168.1.52, i reserved this ip in the dhcp lan reservation of the router.
I don't know what u mean with the hostname or ip connection between nas and pc. How do i verify this?
Thx again and sorry, it's my first setup with a nas and a 10g connection, so i'm pretty noob at it.

The subnet mask of the router is set to 255.255.255.0, while the subnet of the 10g cards (the nas and the pc ones) are set at 255.255.0.0.
Don't know what /16 or /24 means, sorry

Yes, exactly. That has nothing to do with NAS, its just networking.
Some OS do not allow to leave DNS or gateway "blank", in that case just enter the IP of the device you are configuring.
Your 10G connection is a dedicated connection between PC and NAS, so you need no DNS and gateway.
Question for connection type: did you mount the share via the hostname of the NAS, i.e. or via IP, i.e. ?
If you are using the hostname, you must ensure that name resolution do not point to 1G interface! Using the IP this will not occur.
You can check this from your PC by running and .
Last command you can run with both NAS IPs (1g and 10g), only the one of them should return the hostname!
