Hello all,
I have recently got my NAS and did all the usual setup stuff (experienced), but I ran into a issue, not a problem. The reason I say this is because I can still access my drive from the mapped drive that I made in windows explorer but it doesn't show on the network. However, when I go to \\'nas name' or \\'nas ip' it appears under the network drop-down on the left but not under the 'computer' section when you click on network. This didn't happen when I first booted and setup the NAS but it seems to be now, even without me changing any settings(i think). Even though this is a minor issue maybe with windows or maybe with my network im not sure.
If someone could point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated! I can also provide pictures if needed.

I'm having the same problem since I upgraded the firmware. Falling back to an older level of the firmware didn't help though.

Re: QNAP NAS not showing in network but is accessable
I am having a similar problem with my TS-412. When it boots it does not appear on my network, however if I restart the network process on the QNAP it then appears and works perfectly. I also have a TS-112 which always seems to work fine. As far as I can see the setting on the two boxes are identical.

Re: QNAP NAS not showing in network but is accessable
I'm having a similar problem from all the "windows 10" computers in the house.
it is a recent thing.
the nas has just updates its qts firmware
Model: TS-119P+
version: 4.3.3.0154 not the version in the signature.
the nas does not show in the network section nor does it show as a network option when i try to map a drive.
i can access it by using its ip
\\192.168.0.250\folder
i was visible until recently
i get an error message
THE LOCAL DEVICE NAME IS ALREADY IN US
for the existing maps,
these were set up by mapping a network drive and selecting the nas from the network section.
the properties for these maps show is called as
\\qnap\folder
but this no longer works
but \\192.168.0.250\folder
any advice would be appreciated.
