Awareness:
A new firmware QTS 4.3.6.1050 build 20190830 has been released. The Change Log for it says it fixes the SMB issue. HOWEVER, several posts in the thread about the new build in the Firmware & Utilities section say the SMB issue is still there.
I had the SMB issue with the 4.3.6.1040 build 20190820, and downgraded to fix it. So I am NOT going to apply this new build for a while to see if it is stable.

I installed it on a TS-431P, so far NO problems at all.
QNAP TS-239Pro II+, 2x 4TB RAID 1

Interesting. my qnap is prompting for firmware update too, doesn't tell me the version number, but when I hover over the 'release notes' link, the "fw=" in the url it wants to take me to is "4.3.6-2019/07/04" which seems odd as that implies July.
*Edit* - if I manually check for firmware downloads, I do see the .1050 update, and in the notes it shows "- Users could not open or paste files inside the Home folder in Windows via SMB."
But, since I already downgraded to fix the issue, I think I too will wait a bit (week or two) to see if the firmware gets pulled again or sticks or just what. makes me a bit nervous.

I have fixed the problem with downgrade to 4.3.6.0993.

I am having the same error but only on the "home" folder, any file size, anytime, everytime.
I dont have problems when with other shared folders.
ps. I have never used this "home" folder before, only today.

I had this problem and resolved it by disabling smb multichannel support on the QNAP. If you've ever gone to the trouble of using vi to edit your smb.conf file and adding in the line to enable smb multichannel then take it out. Fixed it for me right away. Before I was trying to copy a VEAAM10 install to a shared directory on the QNAP and it kept giving that error on specific files. About 1GB of files did not copy over. After disabling SMB Multichannel on the QNAP all the files copied over okay.
