Hi,
I have a Qnap NAS and I want to access the files of a share from a windows server 2012.
I am experiencing Windows Error: (0x80070032) The request is not supported.
Do you have any ideas to resolve this problem ?
I would like to go from SMB2 to SMB3.
What are the causes and consequences for such a change?
Thanks;

SMB version can be changed in GUI (advanced options)

Thanks
But my question is:
- Will the transition from smb2 to smb3 solve the Windows error?

I don't know, I have a Windows 2012 server here, and I have no problem accessing QNAP shares in the given config (SMB1-3)
but try the change (SMB3 min/max) and see if it helps

Is it possible to go back if I switch to version smb3?
Thanks

Thanks a lot for your answers.
One last question before changing the option on my QNAP.
Is it necessary to restart the QNAP after to change this option?

I changed the SMB version to SMB3 and I encounter the same error: (0x80070032) The request is not supported.
My backup software cannot access to the share Qnap NAS.
For information, It works when the NAS is not in standby mode. But I disabled the StandBy mode.
Can you help me please ?

I believe this is a firmware issue.
Have you tried using FTP protocol for your backups.

How to fix this firmware problem?
The backup software does not use the FTP protocol.

At your risk!
Sounds like SMB config messed up.
Save your NAS config in Control Panel first!!!
Try in Putty
:: List smb.conf
ls /etc/config/smb*.con*
:: Backup smb.conf
cp /etc/config/smb.conf /etc/config/smb_backup.conf
:: Overwrite with default smb config
cp /etc/default_config/smb.conf /mnt/HDA_ROOT/.config/smb.conf
This resets your SMB config file.
