Hi All
We just configured our Nas to the Network.
10 users with approximately 1TB files
Shared to the pc's with mapped drive successful.
When we try to search for a file only on 3 computers we get a response, on the rest computers it searches for ever.
RAID 10 configuration with 4 drives of 4TB.
The only problem that I am thinking is that our cabling is half cat6 and half cat 5.
Does that make any difference?
Could you please come back to me ???

Re: Very slow on search from Mapped Drive
My client is a notary and has a lot of files saved on it.
We relaced a Netgear Stora and now when he wants to upload some document from Qnap or attach it to an email, he use the search window of the Chrome browser and it takes 10 min to find the file.
The other computer doesn’t have this problem!

Re: Very slow on search from Mapped Drive
Same sentiments here, we have Q: mapped drives in Win10, all PCs set same way. Inside that mapped drive there are folders and some have few thousand PFD files. When attempting to do a quick search on Windows Explorer top right field a light green percentage bar starts to show on address field and it never reaches 100% with results. On other PCs with same settings we type partial file name and search populates super fast. On PCs with issue we can manually go to folder and scroll down to file, we can also type a number or letter and it scrolls down to that initial letter, but search always fails.
Tried installing Qsirch "QNAP's Powerful, Google™ like Search Tool for NAS" but app as its not needed, its a mem and CPU hog as it indexes files with thumbnails--just a mess. BTW this is a QNAP app and have no idea why there is a lite and a paid version--all we want is to do a simple search.
ps: we used to have no issues doing file search from ALL PCs. Memory and CPU loads are normal, reboot does not change issue.

Re: Very slow on search from Mapped Drive
Then open a ticket with QNAP and complain
There must be some constellation that results in this error
