TS-453D_Very slow picture Thumbnail creation _ Slow search in Folders

Post by flashman6230 »

Hi,

I have purchased a TS-453D with 4GB RAM and 2 HDD (1 year ago) which works only as back-up - storage.

When I open folders on NAS which contain pictures or movies from a Windows PC on the same LAN, the files are being loaded very slowly and the thumbnails are being created painfully slow....
Obviously, I use the SAMBA protocol for accessing these files and I also enabled in NAS settings: "Enable Advance Folder Permissions" , "Enable Windows ACL support" and also the "Enable Folder Aggregation".

Also, any search I may do from a Windows PC into a NAS folder even if it only has few files and folders it take an absurd amount of time to revert with the results.

Is there anything I can do to fix this by means of adjusting the software- settings ?

Should I consider buying some hardware accessories from Qnap to severely increase the speed of browsing these particular folders [e.g. expansion slot with SSD (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CT ... _558915670) or anything else] ?

I am very unsatisfied with this delays and wish to find a workaround.

Many thanks in advance !
