Failure on Virtual Machine Import

Post by pczekalski »

Dear Community,

I've serious problem with migrating virtual machines from TS-451 (QTS 4.2.2 Build 20161214) to my new TVS-453.
I do can export VMs from TS-451 (using Virtualisation Station) but importing on TVS-453 fails with "unsupported OS" message for all but one, eventually starts importing and fails with "Failed to import VM: Define vm fail [WindowsXP]" for my old XP machine (the only one seems to be supported by new Virtualisation Station).

Seems Import/Export cross QNAP nas does not work at all.
Having 5 VMs: Windows XP, Ubuntu 16.03, Elementary OS, Bitnami EDX and Windows 10 (the former one converted from physical machine via vmware, working fine on TS-451), none of above is portable to the new NAS. What a shame for QNAP.

Thank you in advance for any help,

P.

QNAP Support was helpful. Seems you cannot export from QTS 4.2 and import on QTS 4.3
Once I've aligned both machines to QTS 4.3, Export/Import works seamlessly.
