SMB

Post by djtech2k »

I have a TS-412 and recently starting having an issue connecting to SMB. My question is what version of SMB is this device capable of using and how can you change or limit it? I have the latest firmware as of last week. There is one pending update.

In qts go to networking, microsoft networking, advanced, then set your smb to highest from there.

if still got issue connect smb, create helpdesk ticket, check my faq link for how to do that.

Thanks. I looked in the UI but there was no option for me to do it. I was able to run the smb commands listed in that thread and found that SMB v2 and v3 were disabled on my Qnap. That combined with the security focus on SMBv1 was most likely the issue. I enabled smbv2 and smbv3 and it seems to be working fine now.
