Can't connect new PC to domain
I'm currently trying to add a new PC (Win10) to our office domain. We've added 8 or so computers in the past, all without hitch. However, this time I can't get it to work.
On the new laptop, the DNS has been set as the NAS IP. I can select the domain, it searches, the login pops up (which tells me it's found the DC), I enter the admin username and pw, and then it says 'That domain could not be found'.
If I change the domain name to add .local at the end, it doesn't give me the option to log in.
Any ideas?

I should add, I've added the computer in the NAS DC settings. I've also renamed the computer to match this time (it didn't work before or after)
It's a TS253 pro

Yes, that's correct.
4.3.3.0299
I'm really stumped with this one. I'm finding the NAS as I'm getting the login option, but I can't go any further. Neither my login (I'm an admin) or a user's login works.

Any thoughts anyone? My user is waiting for this machine so I'm under a bit of pressure to find a solution. Thanks!

Re: Can't connect new PC to domain
if the logins on the NAS have changed you have a very different problem

The logins on the nas haven't changed. They work fine. What might therefore be the problem?

Re: Can't connect new PC to domain
i saw that page. The laptop's DNS IP is set to the NAS.
Syncronise your device with the AD server. I'm not entirely sure what that means.
I follow the steps to join the domain, I get the login page, but it won't login and says the domain can't be found.

no idea! Where do i find them?
I can log in to domain computers using those logins without issue.

I would check the regular QNAP logs for any entries

I can't see anything. I can't even see attempts (I might be looking in the wrong place). I can see random attempts to log in but with different IP addresses. I assume that's something else

Pulling my hair out with this one! We've never had issues before.
Can you just confirm, should the IP address on the computer be set to automatic, or should I set to an IP range in my domain. Subnet? Default gateway?
I currently have the Preferred DNS set to the nas IP, and alternate set to 4.4.8.8
