Multiple DNS Registrations

Post by zipler »

Hello,

I am running v4.3.4.0537.

My nas has 4 IP address.

1 for a 2 NIC team on my internal LAN
1 for a single NIC on my internal LAN (used only for a few services with service binding)
2 for iSCSI communication directly connected to the hosts (separate network range)

The problem I am having is that my QNAP is registering all 4 of these IP addresses in my domain DNS. If I ping the qnap using the hostname, I will randomly get back 1 of the 4 addresses. 2 of which are on a different network.

I am wondering how I can configure the NAS to only register 1 of these IP addresses in DNS.

My domain DNS does have Secure Registration enabled and I do have the qnap joined to the domain as a Member Server - not a DC.
I have disabled "Automatically Register in DNS" under ControlPanel > Network & File Services > Win/Mac/NFS > Microsoft Networking > Advanced Options. Even with that setting enabled, after deleting the 3 unwanted DNS registration's they re-appear, I think after a reboot.

Any ideas on where to configure this would be appreciated.

Thanks!
