Setting domain controller failed.

Post by emanuele.zimol »

Good day everyone

when i try enable ADDITIONAL DOMAIN CONTROLLER from ControlPanel it give me "Setting domain controller failed."

I checked this prerequisites i found surfing:

- In Domain Security from ControlPanel is Wizardly configured with AD Authentication (domain members) and is Joined to a local Domain (Domain users can actually connect to Qnap with their domain credentials)
- Actual Domain Controller is Windows 2019 Server (192.168.0.212), configured as DNS and DHCP server (in DHCP server option DNS1:192.168.0.212 , DNS2:none)
- From Server, in Powershell, "Get-ADDomain | fl Name,DomainMode" show me Windows2008R2Domain , so level of domain should be correct
- From ControlPanel, in Network & Virtual Switch homepage i see the Primary DNS server as 192.168.0.212 and Secondary DNS server none

Someone can help me about this problem?

Were you able to get this working? I'm having the same issue connecting to a 2019 domain controller.
