Active Directory install.

Hi,
Can anyone give me some advice to look for when installing Active Directories onto a QNAP TS-453D. I was thinking of updating any drives/patches or security issues. The process it's self seems quite straight forward.
Also this machine runs a small local radio station and we need the server up and running during this process. My question, will the install effect any PC's currently logged on such as rebooting.
