Hi,

We have a TS-412 wich is join to our AD. Connecting from a domain computer to an UNC path works like a charm, user can access the folders the have access to. But when i try to access the ftp server using the same domain account i get login failed. I can however connect to the ftp server using a local account from the NAS.

Does anybody know how to fix this.

Kind regadrs,
Paul van der Meer

How do you specify the username at the ftp prompt?

The default is DOMAIN+USERNAME for ftp, WFM, and afp - there is an option to change to the more domain-user-friendly DOMAIN\USERNAME on Home>> Network Services>> Microsoft Networking
...
[ ] Login style: DOMAIN\USERNAME instead of DOMAIN+USERNAME for FTP, AFP, & Web File Manager

Thanks for the reply. I've tried DOMAIN\USERNAME, <NAME OF THE NAS>\USERNAME and just the username, but none work.

I cannot authenticate to my FTP. SSH works 100%

I have tried these username templates (using our custom domain)
admin
domain\admin
domain\\admin
domain/admin
domain//admin
domain+admin
domain\+admin
admin@domain

I have tried from:
windows ftp command line client
linux ftp and lftp
from qnap command line itself (via ssh using ftp command)

I always get
Login failed: 530 Login incorrect.

Just a note, I always forget this if I haven't used it in a while...USERNAMES are CaSe SenSiTive. I keep typing "admin" but it comes out "ADMIN"
