QTS 5 and Photo/Music/Video Station problem

Post by tuxonroller » Mon Oct 11, 2021 8:06 pm

Hello,
I've upgraded my QNAP TS 231 P last week to QTS 5.0 and since, photo/music/video station don't work anymore.
For these 3 apps, I've this message in the app window when I start them from QTS :

Code: Select all

Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator at admin@NAS to inform them of the time this error occurred, and the actions you performed just before this error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
I don't see error messages in QuLog for that.

I've searched on internet but I find nothing that really helps me.
I've tested this command with some strange error about BusyBox et missing /etc/vQTS; I don't know if this is linked to my issue :

Code: Select all

[/etc/init.d] # ./StartMediaService.sh stop
grep: invalid option -- 'o'
BusyBox v1.01 (2021.09.30-18:54+0000) multi-call binary

Usage: grep [-ihHnqvs] PATTERN [FILEs...]

Search for PATTERN in each FILE or standard input.

Options:
-H	prefix output lines with filename where match was found
-h	suppress the prefixing filename on output
	-i	ignore case distinctions
-l	list names of files that match
-n	print line number with output lines
-q	be quiet. Returns 0 if result was found, 1 otherwise
	-v	select non-matching lines
-s	suppress file open/read error messages

Shutting down Media Server: cat: /etc/vQTS: No such file or directory
OK
Do you have some idea to resolve this issue?

Thanks a lot

Its strange, maybe a bad firmware update process. You can try to re-install the last firmware manually, with a bit of luck... don't look like a Apps issue

I've downloaded the latest firmware and reinstalled it. The problem is persisting.

Maybe reinstall MultimediaConsole
I had an issue with my upgrade ** - and had to uninstall/install MultimediaConsole to get Photostation working.
I did however I lost all my "Smart Album" data, but can't be sure if it was this that caused it.
** When I first upgraded to 5.0 my system came up as a brand new installation asking for a disk to initialize. I downgraded to QTS 4.5.4 and on recovery the 5.0 reinstall worked.
