I have a slight noise in my newly recorded audio files that sounds like crackling (almost dirty LP like sound). What could be causing this? I used a very old Dell laptop to rip the CD to AIFF via iTunes then uploaded via FileStation 5 to QNAP TS251, then stream via Airport Express to stereo.
Thoughts/Ideas?
thanks in advance for your help!!!

BTW, searched for 20 minutes to find if this had been addressed before.... No results

One other point. I just noticed I'm ripping at 48k rather than the 44.1k. Could that be the problem?

qnap is only holding/serving files...does not care about rip or playback settings
search for any issues on itunes forum (if there is one)

Great point! Thank you. I'll post the question on the Apple iTunes Support Forum and see.dolbyman wrote:qnap is only holding/serving files...does not care about rip or playback settings

What other ways have you all used to rip files to store on a QNAP? I'm not married to using iTunes...

dolbyman - you were 100% correct. Ripping the CD's at 48khz instead of 44.1k was the culprit.
Thanks for setting me straight.
