I opened a ticket & made it very clear that removing functionality in this manor is extremely bad form, especially for their professional users who have established work flows that have now been ruined by this seemingly pointless removal of functionality.
Did the exact same thing. Unfortunately QNAP do not have a formal complaints process to raise this, and their support team don't care as it's not a support query.

Afaik there isn't but i'm hoping someone can correct me here.....are there any 3rd party players or streaming tools in the QNAP EU store that can be used as a substitute?
Anyone have any workarounds for this? any Qnap EU store apps that can as a web based video player?

setting up new remote access on Windows 10, I run into demand that vlc and qvhelper be installed.
Vlc is easy, qvhelper is not available.
what is the workaround?

So what is the workaround to allow me to use qnap NAS?
Where is the demand generated? Can the demand be circumvented?
A new use pathway will NOT allow use.
Has anyone posted o   r shared the app anywhere that it can be downloaded?

If firmware 4.3.6.0895 does not support qvhelper.exe, why does it require its use to procede?
