Do I Need To Select Every Folder With Pictures To Import Or Can I Just Select The Root Folder?

Hello,
I have transferred over about 400 gb of pictures to my NAS, but now I am trying to organize them. I have gone into multimedia console to select the folder that I would like to be able to see in Photo Station, but it requires me to select each folder with images instead of just the root folder. Currently, I have all of my pictures in separate folders in the "Public" folder, but instead of just being able to select "Public" I need to select every folder. Is there a better way? My main concern is that if I add more pictures in the future that I will need to go back into Multimedia Console and add each new folder.
UPDATE: Did some more research and apparently photos or folders with photos should be placed in the Multimedia folder. When that folder is selected in Multimedia Console it imported every sub folder with images into Photo Station.
