I encountered this issue as well, had the Qphoto app on my mobile phone, but it gave me the earlier mentioned permission error.
I noted down permissions where not the issue, because I even tried it with 'admin' and it gave the same issues.
What is needed in order to start uploading your photos to the NAS using Qphoto is a shared folder on the NAS. Note that this is different from creating an album in photo station or qphoto.
How do you do this?
1. Open file station
2. On the data volume you would like create the shared folder: Hit the 3 dots and select "Create new shared folder"
3. Don't forget assigning the right user permissions and hit 'create'
4. Open the photo station app in QTS.
5. Hit the 3 dots top right and open 'settings'
6. In the 'content management' tab click 'add' and select the just created shared folder(s), don't forget to hit save.
7. The shared folder should be visible in the app, this is also the place where you will upload the photo's from your Qphoto app on your mobile
Hope this helps out some people
