Secure backup against ransomware

Post by melenag »

Hello,

I have few questions about security backups against ransomware.

I checked this webpage https://www.qnap.com/solution/ransomware/cs-cz/

We solve problem when computer will be infected if will also doesn't affect all backups on NAS. NAS will be on different VLAN without access to Internet. Is there any solution to make it paranoid/ultra secured?

Also I woudl like to ask if you don't know about some proffesional practice in czech republic with some licence proof?

Thanks
Gabriel

do not domain integrate your NAS. Also, use strong local passwords and protect all your shares with snapshots and cloud backups.
IF your a share is compromised and data becomes encrypted by ransomware, revert to the lastest snapshot to get the data back. Depending on how often your data changes, set your snapshot interval to minimize data loss when you revert to a snapshot.
