RTRR backup incremental (as rsnapshot does) questions

Post by jfk105 »

Hello, I have some question about RTRR server (Qts 4.3.3) with versioning backup.
On some nas I use to backup data (from Win/Linux server to NAS) using some rsnapshot (rsync incremental) scripts so I have all data backupped with a daily.x structure and restore files gettin by the day I need. And this works very well.

Now because I have some problems to rsnapshots directly between two nas I’m studying RTRR server to replicate the behaviour of rsnapshots.
I create a RTRR job to get some data from my source RTRR nas to backup on another RTRR nas server and it works well but I have some questions (my doubts):

1) Backup versioning is actually as rsnapshot incremental backup?
2) I’m confuse about version and days to keep: I would keep my backup for a year (365 days) so I have to set 365 ”Max versions number” and 365 “days to keep”?

Thanks in advance, J
