Is this Backup Scenario Possible?

Post by dronesbyday »

Hi All,

Let me start by saying I am not a network person, just a small business owner trying to make a living.

Can you tell me if what I want to do is even possible. If so, can you help with the setup?

I have a Fortinet 100D that acts as my firewall and router. My LAN range is 192.168.100.100-192.168.100.180/24

I want to separate all my NAS devices (5 each) on a separate VLAN with static IP's starting at 192.168.200.10-192.168.200.60 with separation of 10. After that I want a 6th NAS to be the back for all the other 5 for specific directories. Each of the NAS have 2 to 4 ethernet connections.
Thanks,

Get yourself a basic network design program, do not over complicate the network design KISS, it can become messy when you start adding into cloud and external private servers, get yourself a complete list of every device you want, you will be best to apply Static IP to every device.
