Hi,
I have very critical problem in my production site. 2 Days ago , after final firmware upgrade ,I restart my TS 1079 Pro and strange thing happen.
When check my VM folders , almost all vmdk files size turn to 16 or 32 Kb. Those files were from 500 Gb to 1,2 TB. As you guess , I shocked. Because 20 server VM have lost. QNAP did not show any error message or warning. After 2 more restart , one more strange thing happen, and vmdk file size turn to their original size. But now, QNAP giving warning that file system is not clean. So I started file system cleaning process from Storage manager.
So , about 30 minutes it reached %25 . Later it reached %29.4 and about 27 hours it is checking disk but still progress is %29.4
QNAP configuartion is : 8x3TB RAID6 and 2x 2TB RAID0 SSD Cache , 16 GB Ram
How do I be sure that it is normal ,because e2Fsck process can be frozen ?
If I stop FSCK , will it cause some damage on the file system?
You know ,web client only displays progress percentage, is there anyway to display running e2Fsck process's detail info in SSH client. I made some search that USR1 signaling can do something. But I'm afraid that to stop current checking.
Please help me urgently , I'm in so bad condition.
Robotic.
PS: I have open ticket from help desk from Central & Southeast Asia department but nobody return to me , even I enabled remote support by their instruction

Re: File System Check problem
If write cache is enabled and you only have one SSD or RAID 0 and an SSD dies, there is a chance of data corruption.
This is why write cache should only be allowed for RAID 1.
This is a general rule and not specific to Qnap.
