NAS to Webser

Post by itisme34 »

We need to make a backup of the nas files to a server.
So far I understood rsync is the way to do it.
When I setup a rsync job there is a field for the rsync and ssh port.
I what to use rsync over ssh.
But the connection does not work if the server does not expose a rsync port.
Why do I need a rsync port be accessed from outside when I want to use rsync over ssh?

This is exactly I was looking for.
Sad that qnap doesnot support it without rsync port.
I saw same job creation on Synology and it was super easy.
Synology just need a rsyncd file in the ssh users home directory.
However, thank you a lot for the response.
